IN SEARCH OF AFRICA'S BIG FIVE

They are huge, they are big, they are enormous, ladies and gentle travelers , they are the big five of Africa. The ultimate goal of any safari-goer is to spot the Big five and nothing measures to the stealth of the leopard, in fact this animal is the rarely seen big cat and spends most of its cat life solitude but we know where to find him.

Think you got a temper! Well try the buffalo for a challenge. Come on down to Lake Nakuru National Park  and see for yourself. With a horn spanning a meter wide, the buffalo can easily rip of a lion.

Coming on third on Africa's big five is the Elephant.Head on straight to Amboseli National Park and find out why you are not safe in a vehicle with the largest mammal on Earth starring down at you. Against a background of Africa's tallest peak-Mt Kilimanjaro, you'll see dozens and dozens of elephants. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest, Giraffes, Baboons. famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Get a chance of a lifetime to see the endangered black rhino at Lake Nakuru National Park, but don't get cozy with this this mighty beast, the rhino weighs  a tonne and ironically quite fast almost to a human being's average speed. With such speed and a tonne of muscles, the rhino is a battle tank with an engine of a Ferrari. The Park is also home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lake shores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 bird’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

All hail the king! No safari is ever complete without seeing the king and this means you have to go through  lion country- Maasai Mara and get a chance  to watch him hunt. Also get to meet his cousins the cheetah and leopard in action. Maasai Mara is also well known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara river.
